We advise the five following beaches (among others):

In Cavalaire and La Croix-Valmer:

The water is shallow, warm, the waves are usually small and you can find easily restaurants, cafés, fast-food and drinks: these beaches are therefore adapted to small children if you have some.

– The nearest one: 43°10’48.75”N – 6°32’16.58”E

– Plage du Débarquement: 43°11’19.20”N – 6°33’25.16”E

– Plage de Gigaro: 43°11’05.35”N – 6°35’46.51”E

In Ramatuelle:

Plage de Pampelonne (the legendary beach of 1956 Brigitte Bardot’s film “And God Created Woman”): the sand is particularly nice, but waves can be tall when it’s windy and the level of water becomes quite rapidly deep.

– 43°13’37.32”N – 6°39’43.74”E

In Le Lavandou:

Plage de Cavalière

– 43°09’06.29”N – 6°25’42.31”E

We propose you five amazing and unique walks (the required level is not high, children can participate but have to be watched well in certain rocky areas). Don’t forget your camera!

We give the GPS coordinates of the places from which to start and where to park your car, you can then check on the Internet and look at the pictures to get a more precise idea.

1) Cap Taillat:

Parking in L’Escalet (43â—¦10’58.07”N – 6â—¦38’29.64”E). One of the greatest natural site of the Riviera and a walk of less than one hour, quite easy (little children can also do it), Mediterranean maquis and forest, numerous beaches, nice rocks, pure and blue water… a walk we strongly advise you to do! But start as early as possible in the morning  (8 am), or after 5 pm, otherwise you will have to park your car far away from the entrance of the path and walk on the street before joining it.

2) Cap Lardier

Parking in Gigaro (43â—¦11’07.00”N – 6â—¦35’55.85”E). It’s the cape you can see from the villa. It’s a natural park with Provençal umbrella pines, small beaches and the scent of the Mediterranean “maquis” …

Start: walk 300 meters on the street along the beach, the trail begins near the entrance of the restaurant “Le Refuge” (well indicated).

3) Ridge Trail (“Chemin des crêtes”)

Just above the villa. On the north side of the trail, a panoramic view on one of the most superb Mediterranean forest (“la forêt des Maures”), and on the south side of the trail, a plunging view

over the coast and Cavalaire. (You can park your 43â—¦11’50.26”N – 6â—¦31’16.41”E)

4) Rayol Gardens (“Jardins du Rayol”)

(Address: Avenue des Belges, 83820 Rayol-Canadel-sur-Mer, website: www.domainedurayol.org/

5 km west of Cavalaire, you will see, on you left, a sign “Jardins du Rayol”, then you drive down residential streets and find the parking.)

It takes at least half a day to visit the park. 15 minutes away, an amazing Mediterranean park, famous internationally, with many cacti, tree ferns, rare plant species, theme gardens, snorkelling path in summer, bookshop, cafés… (entrance : 11 euros / 6 euros, open all year long; you can check the opening hours on the website).

5) Port-Cros Island (website: www.provenceweb.fr/e/var/portcros/portcros.htm)

Easy access by ferry (several departures) from Le Lavandou Ferry terminal (17 km west of Cavalaire with the coastal road D559). 100 % national park, no cars, no smoking area. A walking, snorkelling and diving paradise.

Saint-Tropez

You can park your car in the large “Parking du Port”, and then visit the old village, the sumptuous yachts, the very famous stars café “Sénéquier”, the citadel and its museum, the numerous art galleries and boutiques…
